Software version 4.7
“A totally amazing thing happened to me yesterday!”
“Uh-huh…” *Glancing in the phone*
Now this is a conversation that everyone hates. Has life become so difficult that one cannot look eye in eye while talking? Or is whatsapp a more preferable hangout than an actual face to face meet? Is typing and sending a message a better way to confront emotions than having a heart to heart about it?
This cellphone dominated world has redefined ‘being social’. Being in trend is upgrading the android software version 4.0 to 4.7. Your social status is defined with the latest iphone 5 that you carry.
People have stopped enjoying the little things in life. Remember the times when we used to secretly send out hand written notes in the class and not group chat messages? Or the times when we wrote what was written on the blackboard in a book rather than taking pictures of them.
People tend to laugh at me because I carry a basic Nokia phone. But I am sure, they don’t realise that I laugh back at them. Because I use my cellphone to call people to meet me, go out for long walks with them and instead of instagraming my dogs cute face, I actually take him out in the garden and play with him. Sometimes I feel like asking them, “You have facebook, watsapp, temple run, twitter, gmail, instagram, we chat, subway surfer, etc. on the go. But where is you app called ‘life’?”
